Domain check
Domain checks are performed, including SPF status, DKIM verification of both header and body and DMARC control to verify sender legitimacy.
Anti-spam scanner
Anti-spam analyses the text of each email to understand its context. Reputation checking makes sure that the sender is allowed to send messages. According to the settings, messages are blocked, quarantined, or marked as spam.
Malware scanner
Every email attachment is sent through multiple malware scanners to determine if they contain malware. Multiple malware scanners increase the chance of malware detection.
Anti-phishing scanner
If the anti-phishing filter suspects a phishing attempt, it will either disarm the phishing link or display a line warning in the body of the message notifying the user.
Attachment verification
MailDefence performs a scan against a set list of file types that are not allowed to be sent through to ships. The attachment is stripped from the email, and the recipient will receive a new attachment which will give details on why the file was quarantined.
